Jordan is 16 Today!

Our oldest turns 16 today! Jordan is such a fun part of our family. Here are some random facts about Jordan:

1. Speaking of random facts, Jordan loves to share every random fact he knows. I mean really random! I also mean every!

2. He loves the rubik's cube, and can solve it quickly. All of them, the 3 x 3, 4 x 4 and 5 x 5.

3. He is artistic, he is great at drawing.

4. He loves nerdy t-shirts, and is thrilled that he got a gift certificate for www.thinkgeek.com, so he can get some new ones.

5. He doesn't watch much TV, but he really likes Mythbusters.

6. He reads like crazy!!!!!!!! I can't get enough books from the library to keep up with him. He can easily read a book in one day, EVERY DAY!

7. He recently got his braces off. WOO HOO!

8. He is a positive kid, he can usually find a fun side to everything. I love that about him.

Pea Soup?

I am convinced that I am getting old. I am losing my hearing! The boys have these lazer tag guns, and when Levi turned his on, I swore it said "Pea Soup". I had to think for a minute, "Why in the world would a lazer tag gun say "pea soup" when you turn it on?" I thought a little longer and realized it was saying "Team Two". Team Two makes so much more sense than Pea Soup, don't you think?

This is What I Found This Morning

I woke up this morning, I headed downstairs to help the kids get ready and pack their lunches. I get to the kitchen and I see this note on the counter (written on a napkin).

Levi is the one that left the note, he even told me what he packed in case I was "concerned". Levi is such a fun kid! Lately, he has been waking up early, he makes sure to do a "job" in the morning, so he won't have to do it when he gets home from school. I came down the other morning, and I saw him emptying the dishwasher. I said "Levi that was so nice of you." Later that morning I asked him if he could do a couple other things for me. "I said I know you have already done a lot this morning, but would you mind taking out the garbage for me?" He said, are you ready for this? "Sure Mom, that's nothing compared to all the stuff that you do for us." I am thinking he wants something, but he has been acting like this for 2 weeks, and he has made no special requests. He's a keeper (at least for this week).

Photos of Our Family Room - FINALLY!!!

A certain someone has been bugging me to post photos of our family room since we got an entertainment center, painted, added a mantle and trim. Someone who could see it in person if they didn't actually move to an entirely different state. So, here it is for everyone to see. The wall color didn't show up very well, but I really like it.



Here is the entire room just before Christmas.

I am loving the new room! Austin said "We are totally classin' up the joint.", and that is exactly what it feels like.
